Dana White Seeks "Silent Partner"
Has the well known UFC President Danna White got his "charge card" over the limit?? White stated in a personal interview with Bloomberg that the UFC may be seeking a silent partner. To be more specific."...someone who has a lot of cash and who is willing to just sit around and not tell us what to do..."
At the present time UFC is estimated to be worth anywhere from 300 million to one billion dollars. It's target audience is males age 18-48. Surprisingly more and more women are becoming fans. Perhaps one of them would want to sit back and just watch. There are 35-40% women now who eat, sleep, and breathe MMA.
It was disclosed in the interview with Bloomberg that Dana White owns 10% of the business while the Fertitta family owns a whopping 90%. They are seeking to sell shares in approximately 10-15% of the business.
After some recent filming misjudgements in the reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter there may be a loss of popularity. It is quite possible it may be breaking the bank. Due to the encouraged destruction of the elaborate house where the fighters stay and the careless use of equipment in the training areas they may be in the red. Most grown men don't want to hear about sperm being placed on food or found in the shower whether it is part of life or not. I was impressed that they did not have a bunch of drunken brawls during this last segment...at least not so far.
It is also possible that the great Kimbo Slice and his fighting ability may have been over-rated. It is not known what Dana White paid this professional street fighter to be on TUF but news has leaked out that he is afforded very special treatment. His wife and family according to one of the team members were allowed to watch him (get beaten) during his fight with fighter Roy Nelson. He also had what he calls his posse and fight promoter present. He looks impressive on camera for a man of 35, but looks don't make fights. Odds are he will be fighting again. In a nutshell he's a favorite of Dana. Dana bragged that he brought in 7 million viewers. Maybe one of them wants to be a silent partner.

U.S. Male (Mail)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4grUpvn56_M
Calling all males....this really takes the cake, or should I say pie? Fur pie perhaps. Internet porn star Joanne Angel has been seen training for an MMA bout. This supposedly has been arranged by the Sirius Radio comedy station called Raw Dog. It was noted that this is not the first time on of these events has been scheduled. You might see two girls slugging it out one moment and kissing the next, or even topless beauties in the ring. Before everyone tears up the wires to see where...it is at a gym in Las Vegas called Fortunes.
I don't think the opponent has much to worry about though. As you can see from the youtube video she punches like a girl. Well best of luck to you Raw Dog. You will probably do great with stand up, but grapplin' may be another matter. Only time will tell. Just goes to show you don't have to have a lotof experience to be an MMA fight.

Fedor Choke Out Master
Fedor Emelianenko was recently described as possibly "the greatest choke out master of MMA. Viewers of a popular tv series Sports Science were treated to a showing of Fedor's
rear naked choke. He was compared to one of nature's deadly wonders, a nine ft. Albino Bermese Python. The bermese python exerts approximately 40 lbs. of pressure to its victim which it can maintain for a solid 3 hrs. Fedor with the use of a rigged up dummy measured at 500 lbs. of pressure. More than enough to render anyone unconscious. Fedor was much more gentle with his live victim, John Brenkus Sports Science host. There is reason to fear as too little oxygen can cause brain damage. The trachea (or wind pipe as it is known) can be damaged with such crushing force.
The rear naked choke hold actually cuts off the blood supply to the brain by stopping the flow of blood from the carotid artery. It is much more effective and faster than an air choke. It is quite possible to cause severe and extensive damage to the trachea. This is not something that should be tried at home folks. Intense training and monitoring is needed. It took 4 seconds to
render John Brenkus unconscious. Brain damage could occur in as little as 5 minutes.

Forrest, Do You "Got Fight"?
Will the crowds fill the arena with excitement on November 21, 2009 as Forrest Griffin steps into the ring to fight against an old nemesis Tito Ortiz? That is the question. This will be
a repeat encounter for the two gladiators. Forrest and Tito first mixed it up in UFC 59 where Tito won by split decision.
Looking at the stats:
Griffin -16 wins, 6 loses, and 0 draws. Ortiz-15 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw.
Wins: 3(T)KO's 8(T)KO's
7 Submissions 2 Submissions
6 Decisions 3 Decisions
1 Draw
Losses: 4(T)KO's 2(T)KO's
2 Decisions 2Submissions
2 Decisions
Forrest Griffin was born 1/7/79 in Columbus, Ohio. He called Athens GA his home.
This is the dreaded tale of the tape:
GRIFFIN ORTIZ
Age: 30 Age: 34
Height: 6'3" Height: 6'2"
Weight: 205 lbs. Weight: 205 lbs.
Reach: 77.0 in. Reach: 74.0 in.
Style: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (possesses brown belt) Style: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Muay Thai, and Boxing Submission Wrestling
Griffin fights out of Las Vegas Nevada where he trains at the Xtreme Couture Warrior
Training Center. His most famous fight was against Stephan Bonner at the cultimation of
The Ultimate Fighter reality TV series. They were both competing for a 6 figure contract with
the UFC.
He has a behavior of leaving the ring if he loses. At UFC 66 he fought against Keith
(Dean of Mean) Jardine where he lost by TKO in the first round at 4min.41 sec. He sat very visibly shaken in his corner. Joe Rogan attempted an interview with Griffin and he walked away
saying "I don't know ...Keith came in and knocked me the fuck out. Let's go home." He left Rogan standing alone in center ring.
At UFC 70 he was scheduled to fight Lyoto Machida but contracted staph infection and was unable to compete.
Griffin won in UFC 76 against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua by rear naked choke. It is reported that after that fight he suffered a shoulder injury and had to have surgery. He was
taken from the limelight while he healed.
On July 5, 2008 he obtained the Light Heavy Weight title by fighting the opposing coach
on The Ultimate Fighter Series Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. H won by unanimous decision and
was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
In his first title defense he fought against "Suga" Rashad Evans in UFC 92. Evans defeated Griffin by TKO in the third round. In this fight Griffin Broke his hand. He was again
placed on the sidelines for recovery.
When the announcement came out that Griffin was scheduled to fight in UFC 101 against
Anderson "The Spider" Silva his followers had very mixed emotions. During a pre-fight interview with MMA News he commented that he was not getting a lot of positive reactions
when he told people who he was fighting, stating that he got comments like, "ewww dude.."
I am sure that was hard on his self- esteem. It did not help when Silva stood in the center of the cage yelling and taunting Forrest. He was defeated in the third round by KO in the first round at 3 min. 23 sec. He and his corner men immediately left the cage and disappeared into the crowd a leaving Silva to stand alone in the ring as he was announced the winner. He then dropped out of sight for an undetermined time being spotted occasionally at the Xtreme Couture gym.
It's noted that he no longer sports that "boyish grin" found so appealing by his fans. He has been interviewed and has made some very bizzare statements such as, "hey man don't tell me
I am your kids Idol.." and "It's kinda hard to believe anyone likes me...cause I don't even like myself..." He recently announced he went to GA and got married. Perhaps she will help guide him. As they say behind every good man is a good woman.
Forrest Griffin is replacing injured fighter Mark Coleman in UFC 106 on Nov. 21, 2009.
I wish him good luck. Forrest does have other wins under his belt that are before his time in UFC.
